Exceeded Expectations
Near perfect, nice if it was formatted for iPad. The first time we took The Road we used the ring bound "bible" which worked but required a real navigator to pay attention. This time we took the book and this newfangled app. as a backup.....we never looked at the books. My 22 year old son navigated, he had trouble with the book last time, this time the app. worked much better for him. An added bonus was the GPS feature, we could tell where we were! Since this was our second trip we bypassed some of the city routes (like Albuquerque). Once past the city the app. let us see where to go to get back on The Road. It works without wifi or cell coverage, relying on GPS to operate (if your iPad or iPhone has GPS which most of the new ones do). The only shortcoming of no cell coverage was it couldnt download pictures of sites along the way, but the was no biggie, the ample descriptions were still there. You can even report changes to the route that you observe (like closed bridges) to warn others, and get prompt responses from the publisher. Highly recommend this to anyone; Road newbie or veteran.
